Whitney Greer

"Whitney has an amazing ability to quickly hone in on what needs to be done and to formulate a plan for getting there. Perhaps more important, though, is that she has a way of bringing out the best in her partners and her clients, improving their game, their productivity, and making the final product better than anyone had a right to expect."

Bio

Whitney lives for the creative “aha” moment.  Whether teaching small business owners to define their brands, or writing a video for an integrated media campaign, she zeros in on each client’s authentic differentiation and communicates their story in a fresh, creative way.

In 2009, she opened her doors as Whitney Greer Communications, a communications consulting and coaching practice, and launched a professional brand guide, Wabi-Sabi at Work.  For 13 years prior, Whitney was founder and CEO of Thumbprint Communications, a national communications consulting and training company based in Atlanta.  There her clients included AT&T, Delta Airlines, Intercontinental Hotels and the Turner Networks (TBS, TNT, TCM and CNN.)

Whitney honed her communications expertise as a media and marketing specialist in the heart of Silicon Valley.  She held account management positions at Apple Computer, Sun Microsystems, and leading-edge agencies such as Alexander/Ogilvy and Regis McKenna.  Her favorite project involved launching and becoming the on-air spokesperson, chimp in tow, for IBM’s Junglebook, the first voice-activated game.

A strong advocate of student advancement and a life-long learner, Whitney chaired the 2009 San Francisco Public Relations Roundtable scholarships program and serves as a writing coach for Berkeley middle school students.  After three cross-country moves, she settled in the Berkeley hills where she gains inspiration for new ventures by exploring surrounding  trails with her dog, husband, and teenage daughters.
